Sarajevo-Ploče train to run on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays from November 9

(Patria) - Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and HŽ Passenger Transport have reached an agreement on introducing a new international railway line Sarajevo-Ploče-Sarajevo, as an extension of the existing passenger express train line that currently runs on the Sarajevo-Čapljina-Sarajevo route, which will operate during the weekends – Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The departure of the first international train is planned for November 9, 2025, from Ploče station at 3:40 PM.

After that, the train will run every weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) until June 25, 2026, and from June 26, a seasonal passenger train Sarajevo-Ploče-Sarajevo will operate according to the timetable until August 31, 2026.

Weekend timetable from November 14, 2025, to June 25, 2026:

– Friday: International passenger train Sarajevo-Ploče departs from Sarajevo at 4:46 PM, arriving in Ploče at 8:14 PM;
– Saturday: International passenger train Ploče-Sarajevo departs from Ploče at 5:05 AM, arriving in Sarajevo at 8:35 AM;
– Sunday: International passenger train Sarajevo-Ploče departs from Sarajevo at 7:15 AM, arriving in Ploče at 10:36 AM; and
– Sunday: International passenger train Ploče-Sarajevo departs from Ploče at 3:40 PM, arriving in Sarajevo at 7:07 PM.

By extending the existing Sarajevo-Čapljina line to Ploče station, passengers will have simpler, more affordable, and more comfortable transport to the Adriatic coast during the weekends, thus further strengthening the transport connectivity between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.
