Vogošća residents in fear: Burglaries in private homes over the weekend too

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Burglaries of private homes in the Vogošća settlement continued over the weekend. After about ten burglaries in Rosulje street in November, thieves broke into a family home in Orahov brijeg on Sunday, according to a police report from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton.

An expensive computer monitor was stolen from the house.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton confirmed for Patria that an intensive search for the thieves is underway, and that surveillance camera footage is being reviewed. They could not confirm that burglars arrested a few days ago were released very quickly.

On the other hand, Vogošća residents are in fear and are asking the police to find the thieves who are breaking into their homes as soon as possible. Among the residents of Vogošća, there is an idea to organize themselves and catch the thieves in the act, if the police action does not yield results.

Thieves do not choose their time, but most often they steal at dusk. They take laptops, LCD and plasma televisions, and jewelry from homes.

Owners of private homes are forced to further secure their property by installing window guards and alarm systems.

Some of the owners we spoke with state that the police are patrolling the streets of Vogošća, but that they will not have peace until the thieves are found.
