River levels receding

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data and this morning's measurements by the Sava River Water Agency, the water levels of rivers that have overflowed and caused damage across BiH are stagnant or receding.

The Bosna River is receding along its entire length, while there is no danger of the Sava River overflowing.

The situation in the flooded areas of Sarajevo Canton is improving, announced the Operations Center of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration in Sarajevo.

"According to information from civil protection structures in Ilidža, Novi Grad, Vogošća and Trnovo, they have surveyed the terrain and found that the situation in these municipalities is more stable compared to previous days. Water levels are slightly receding, and some have retreated into their riverbeds, such as the Bosna and Željeznica rivers. The situation is normalizing," it was stated.

The most difficult situation in Sarajevo Canton was in the settlements of Otes, Butmir, Rajlovac, Reljevo, and Trnovo, where houses and businesses were flooded. By Saturday, the situation had somewhat improved, and cleaning of mud and sludge had begun.
