TV presenter Nikolina Pišek and her daughter found unconscious, cause is gas leak

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - TV presenter Nikolina Pišek and her daughter Una survived a real hell on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

Namely, in the house in Zagreb, where Nikolina lives with her husband, art historian Vidoje Ristović, a gas pipe supplying heating to the entire building burst, and Nikolina and Una were poisoned by carbon monoxide, writes Croatian Telegraf, reports BN.

"It all happened on the night between Saturday and Sunday. Around 8 PM, Nikolina spoke with Vidoje, who had to come to Belgrade for work. She told him then that she and her daughter had returned from town and that they would watch a movie and relax together.

Then, around 1 AM, Nikolina called her husband and said that their daughter Una was vomiting and had a severe headache. She also told him that she wasn't feeling well either. Vidoje advised them to go to the doctor immediately, which Nikolina did," an insider close to the presenter told "Blic" and added:

"When her husband called a few minutes later, Nikolina didn't answer. Vidoje immediately called a few friends to go to their house and check on Una and Nikolina. However, when the friends arrived in front of the house, they only heard dogs barking, but no one opened the door.

After that, they broke down the door and found Nikolina unconscious on the floor, while her daughter was lying in bed, also unconscious," the source explained the harrowing scene.

They immediately called the police and an ambulance, and as soon as they arrived at the scene, they realized that the pipe that burst due to construction work had caused the gas poisoning. They were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Nikolina confirmed that she and her daughter ended up in the hospital, but said they are now fine.

"I didn't want this to get out, but it's true that there was a heating gas leak on the night between Saturday and Sunday. I didn't want to go public with it until it was definitive. The criminal police are investigating now and are looking into what actually happened. Adaptations were being made after the earthquake... I won't claim anything as I don't have any information, but it seems there was some mistake due to those works, but I can't claim anything. But, it is true. My daughter and I ended up in the hospital afterwards, we are fine now," says Nikolina.
