Water from Jahorinska vrela should be boiled due to rainfall, and if cloudy, not used

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The warning issued by KJKP “ViK” d.o.o. Sarajevo on Friday, November 5, 2021, regarding the quality of water from Jahorinska vrela is still in effect. According to the results of analyses of water samples taken over the weekend, the water in the Jahorinska vrela zone is currently safe for health, however, given the large amount of rainfall in previous days and given that rain is still falling, there is a risk of deterioration in water quality, and citizens are warned not to use the water without prior boiling for about 10 minutes. If cloudiness, color, or odor is noticeable in the water, we do not recommend using the water even after boiling.

We expect that the prescribed preventive measures will be lifted soon after the heavy rainfall stops.

We emphasize that the water in the entire public water supply system under the jurisdiction of ViK is safe for use, except in the Jahorinska vrela zone.
