Hajj Leader Husein ef. Smajić

Under the chairmanship of Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović, the 11th regular session of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in Sarajevo today, reports the Patria News Agency.

 

The Riyaset adopted the composition of the leadership, guides, and medical teams for Hajj 2015. Deputy Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Smajić was appointed as reisu-l-hudžadž (chief leader of the Hajj pilgrimage).

At the session, consent was given for the appointment of hafiz prof. Halil ef. Mehtić as dean of the Islamic Pedagogical Faculty in Zenica, for the appointment of the Management Board of IPF in Zenica, and consent for the appointment of prof. Naida Hota Muminović as director of the Bosniak Gymnasium in Sarajevo.

By decision of the Riyaset, the Gazi Husrev-beg Library in Sarajevo was designated as a deposit library for the publications of the Islamic Community.

The Riyaset also accepted the report of the competition commission for the appointment of Mensur ef. Pašalić, chief imam of MIZ Fojnica, as head of the department for the Bosniak diaspora, cooperation with non-Muslim countries and international organizations within the Riyaset Directorate for External Affairs.

The Riyaset gave consent to MIZ Banovići for the construction of a waqf house in the Pribitkovići jamaat and for the reconstruction of the mosque in the Stražbenica jamaat, and supported the initiative to amend the Rulebook on the collection of zakat and sadaqah al-fitr.

Members of the Riyaset at today's session also discussed several other current issues within their jurisdiction, announced Mina.
