Protest leader in Tuzla worked at BH Telecom

The leader of the protests in Tuzla that sparked a series of similar gatherings in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aldin Širanović, was an employee of „BH Telecom“ in that city, confirmed for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) from this state-owned company. Širanović was hired for a fixed term, however, he received a negative evaluation from his immediate supervisor and was not hired permanently. Unofficially, this is an unprecedented case in this company, and Širanović allegedly did not show responsibility at the workplace. Spokesperson for „BH Telecom“ Nađa Lutvikadić-Fočo told NAP, speaking about Širanović, the following:

- Aldin Širanović on 01.11.2012 concluded a fixed-term employment contract with „BH Telecom d.d.“ Sarajevo, Tuzla Directorate, for the period from 01.11.2012 to 31.10.2013, with a probationary period of three months. The said employment contract was concluded after the completion of the employee selection procedure through a Public Advertisement for the recruitment of employees for the position of „technician“ in the Tuzla Directorate, published in the daily newspaper „Oslobođenje“ on 15.08.2012.

Lutvikadić-Fočo says that Aldin Širanović's probationary period expired on 31.01.2013.

- At that time, in accordance with the Instructions on conducting probationary periods in BH Telecom, the immediate supervisor gave an Evaluation of the completed probationary period with the final assessment that the named individual did not pass, and due to the negative evaluation, the Probationary Period Contract with the aforementioned Širanović Aldin was terminated – she states.
