RS authorities implementing SANU conclusions: Arresting ARBiH heroes and extorting false statements

The authorities of the Republika Srpska are currently implementing the first point of the Memorandum of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU), adopted in 2012, writes the Patria news agency.

The first point of this memorandum mandates that Serbia's responsibility for committed crimes and destruction in the area of the former Yugoslavia should be reduced. Responsibility will be diminished through indictments, arrest warrants, and staged judicial proceedings against citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Kosovo. In this way, some Serbian academics believe, Serbia will be placed on an equal footing with neighboring countries, i.e., its responsibility for committed crimes will be reduced.

The authorities in the RS are currently implementing the first point of Memorandum II.

There is an ongoing arrest of former members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who live in the Podrinje area, in the RS. Investigators from the RS are attempting, through blackmail and threats, to obtain false statements from Bosniak returnees. The false statements would be used in lawsuits being conducted in the RS against former soldiers and commanders of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the beginning of January, three fighters from Srebrenica were arrested on charges of committing a crime against civilian prisoners. Former members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina are being linked to Naser Orić and are suspected of murdering persons of Serbian nationality. The Serbian side first said that the civilians were killed in the place of Zalazje, and then that they were killed in Srebrenica.
Documents published by Patria revealed that the killed were not civilians at all, but soldiers. Also, several people confirmed that the arrested Izet Arifović was not in Srebrenica at the time of the murder of nine Serbs mentioned in this process.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina also warned of the pressures that the authorities in the RS are exerting on Bosniak returnees, with the aim of extorting false statements.

Associations gathering former members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina also warn that the police and prosecutor's office in the RS are looking for persons of questionable morals, who are ready to give any kind of statements for money. Some of the arrested Bosniaks give statements under threats and pressures.

Samir Avdić, a key witness against the wartime commander of Srebrenica, Naser Orić, recently admitted that he testified falsely against Orić in the Serbian prosecutor's office.

Slobodna Bosna published in 2013 a document that it determined to be a secret document, originating from the circle of Serbian academics from Belgrade. It is about Memorandum II. According to Slobodna Bosna, it is a perfidious plan of Serbia to regain in peace everything it lost in the wars.

The published Memorandum specifically mentions a point mandating that through staged judicial proceedings, an attempt should be made to reduce Serbia's responsibility for crimes in the region, writes Patria.
