TV Hayat Owner: I hope all those who take bribes from us spend them on medicine!

Elvir Švrakić, director and owner of TV Hayat, caused a fierce debate with a status on his Facebook profile, writes the Patria News Agency (NAP). In a conversation with friends, Švrakić made some serious accusations, mentioning bribery and corruption among "little Sarajevans". It all started after Švrakić posted a status in which he called for voting for Danis Tanović, a BiH director and member of Our Party.

- It would be best to vote for Danis. He would turn our country into no man's land! Come on, pseudo-intellectuals, and half-baked Sarajevans, I expect your angry comments – Švrakić's status reads.

And, of course, many comments followed, especially after Švrakić rejoined the discussion, writing that he was also born in Sarajevo, and that he only left it for business trips and annual vacations.

- Despite everything this city hasn't given me, I love it. I love it more and will love it more than all those little Sarajevans. And I won't give it to them. I could never get a building permit, a construction permit, or buy city land from the little Sarajevans in the "city" municipalities. I can only get personal documents, driver's licenses from them, and even then I wait 7 to 15 days, even though I pay in advance. Like everyone else. In court cases, although the cases are 110 percent in Hayat's favor, we regularly lose cases. Appeals, counterclaims, for years... like everyone else. Thank God, we all survived without it. And those who take money from us, not money, but bribes, criminals in the petty structures of power, I hope they spend it on medicine. Those are the little Sarajevans who have made us hate the city. The city where we were born. Can anyone "kick out" these losers from those structures. Maybe the piper, the mice follow him – Švrakić said.

We called Švrakić wanting to find out who asked him for a bribe, and he answered with a counter-question: "Has no one ever asked you, so why wouldn't you know what's going on in Sarajevo?"

In a statement to NAP, Švrakić stated that he did not report corruption, but that he resolved such cases in another way.

- Officials, petty corrupt, insolent people in various public institutions are the evil of this country. All those who asked me for a bribe were fired, I handle it differently and they never had the chance to ask for a bribe again – Švrakić said, adding that it will never get better here as long as there is corruption, NAP reports.
