Owner of a hotel in Jablanica, Amir Džafić, admits to beating employee Enisa Klepo

(Patria) - Amir Džafić, owner of a hotel in Jablanica who brutally beat employee Enisa Klepo in August this year, pleaded guilty to the charge against him - inflicting grievous bodily harm - before the Municipal Court in Konjic. This surprised the judge Almina Čilić, the prosecutor, and Enisa Klepo's lawyer, as he had previously pleaded not guilty.

“My client wishes to plead guilty and express his sincere and deepest regret that this has happened at all, and that it was not his intention to do something like this,” said lawyer Nermin Karalić.

Amir Džafić pleads guilty because, we remind you, he brutally beat his former employee Enisa Klepo after she, dissatisfied with the working conditions, resigned and demanded her earned wages. Klepo suffered grievous bodily injuries due to which, as she says, she still does not feel well: “I don't sleep, I don't go out at night, I have fears, headaches whenever the weather changes. Simply, my life is not the same thanks to Amir Džafić”.

Regardless of the guilty plea, all evidence was presented at the hearing, such as CCTV footage, and witnesses and experts were heard, who detailed exactly what happened on August 1st. For lawyer Nada Dalipagić, there is no doubt - she expects an effective sentence: “We have seen the outcome of this entire event. I hope this will be a warning not only to him, the accused, not to commit criminal offenses, but also a general deterrent for committing such horrific criminal offenses”.

“I expect that we will win this case and that justice will be served, and as was said - that this will be a warning for the future, so that this does not happen again,” added Klepo.

She also points out that she has not received an apology from her former employer, but that the guilty plea indicates that she was telling the truth.

The verdict for the accused Amir Džafić will be pronounced this Thursday.
