Ruling coalition exists only on paper

(Patria) - While awaiting the moves of the new US President Donald Trump, state government is falling apart, writes Federalna.ba.

The ruling coalition exists only on paper, lacking capacity for the European Union, nor for internal processes - this was demonstrated at the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

Ministers from RS exclusively follow the conclusions of the NSRS, which means there are no and will be no decisions and laws important for Bosnia and Herzegovina. And, there was no official stance on the reconstruction of the current convocation.

Initiatives for the dismissal of ministers Nenad Nešić and Elmedin Konaković were acknowledged, and the final decision will be made by the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first session in the new year. The hall is renovated, the ruling coalition is on shaky ground and with reconstruction looming.

First on the agenda - Nenad Nešić, Minister of Security in custody, and Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Two initiatives, and the Council of Ministers of BiH without an opinion. Occupied by turbulence. Although unstable for a long time, they are now at a dead end.

- If you watched that commotion, how it looks, up and down, up and down. Now, it seems to me, we are at a crossroads that will define whether we are lying to each other in this partnership - said Konaković (NiP).

The intentions were already demonstrated at this session. Partners from RS arrived at the session exclusively to obstruct. First - 200 million KM for the modernization of the Armed Forces of BiH, and then any decision that would contribute to BiH.

Ministers from RS would not even come to the session, but an authentic interpretation of the Law on the Council of Ministers of BiH would mean that decisions can be made without them. So they came to state institutions to implement the conclusions of the NSRS. Despite the threats from the Trojka partners to expel them from power.

- Will this coalition, or partnership, survive? I don't know, I'm not burdened. Above all, I am burdened by the fact that I fundamentally represent the interests of RS policies - says the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Staša Košarac (SNSD).

- Such a coalition, especially with such an SNSD and policy from Banja Luka, currently has no capacity to push us forward towards Brussels - says the Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH, Edin Forto (NS).

Far from Brussels, mutual dismissal initiatives within the state coalition are more numerous than laws.

After the session of the House of Representatives of BiH was cancelled due to SNSD, and then a new round of US sanctions due to preparations for secession, Sabina Ćudić requested the dismissal of Nebojša Radmanović from the leadership of the House of Representatives. However, the move, it seems, is not approved even by the Trojka partners.

- We have not had discussions with Sabina Ćudić about this. At the Trojka meeting, we will see what Sabina Ćudić's intention is. I know that in my case, when she spoke about my responsibility for cancelling the summit, she showed ignorance and I think she did it for populist reasons - assessed Konaković.

Initiatives, cancelled sessions, failed laws, then NSRS conclusions. Partners in power cannot offer more. The Council of Ministers is without a single law, and the Parliament with two reform laws, but without a majority to adopt them.

- All the time in the world is ahead of us - said the president of the SNSD Club in the House of Representatives of BiH, Sanja Vulić.

Between the lines, laws will wait again. The urgent and regular session of the House of Representatives of BiH on Thursday seems unlikely to change anything. The blockade is real. From crisis to crisis, without a plan for de-escalation.

It is hard to remember because it has long since escalated in the hall. The question is who will officially announce the complete collapse of the ruling coalition and when.
