ZDK Government: Over 460,000 BAM for Support to Sports Clubs from Zavidovići, Žepče, and Usora

(Patria) - Contracts for the transfer of funds to sports teams of special significance for the ZDK from Zavidovići, Žepče, and Usora were signed today at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK).

The contracts were signed on behalf of the relevant Ministry by Minister Mirza Mušija, on behalf of the Handball Club "Krivaja" Zavidovići - Vice President Deni Velić, and on behalf of the Women's Handball Club "Krivaja" Zavidovići - President Džemil Hamzić (both clubs will receive 116,550 BAM each).

On behalf of the Basketball Club "Orlovik" Žepče (which will receive 104,926 BAM), the contract was signed by President Kenan Mujkić, on behalf of the Football Club "Žepče 1919" (54,973.00 BAM) - President Ivo Tadić, and on behalf of the Football Club "Usora" (78,000.00 BAM) - President Anto Matić.

The signing of the contracts was also attended by the Chairman of the Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Ćazim Huskić.

- The relevant Ministry and the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton invest in sports. Investing in sports is not an expense, but an investment.

We want to provide an opportunity for young people, through these funds to clubs, to help them further capacitate their expert teams, possibly invest funds and engage foreign experts to teach them, so that our young people receive the best treatment to produce future champions, top athletes, and ultimately healthy people - which is most important, to resist this modern trend that wants to accustom children to a sedentary lifestyle, which causes harm both in terms of health and the character of our children - stated Minister Mirza Mušija.

Representatives of the clubs expressed gratitude for the financial support and emphasized that they will continue to work dedicatedly with the aim of including as many young people as possible in their clubs, with the goal of achieving the best possible results and promoting the Zenica-Doboj Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Contracts with clubs of special significance from Zenica, Kakanj, Visoko, Breza, Vareš, and Olovo were signed earlier, and in the coming days, the signing of contracts with clubs from other local communities is expected.

This year, the Zenica-Doboj Canton increased the sports budget from two to five million BAM.

The Government provided three million BAM for the recovery of the most trophy-winning sports teams, while two million BAM will be allocated to clubs not covered by the Law, through regular financing, as in previous years.

With five million BAM allocated for sports, the Canton is approaching an allocation of one percent of the budget, which is considered an optimal level of investment in sports.
