(Patria) - The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, at its 105th session chaired by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, made a decision to dismiss the Director of the Health Insurance Fund of ZDK Omer Škaljo and appointed Ahmed Kasap as acting director.
"The reasons for the dismissal are primarily the unresolved issue of waiting lists, especially concerning oncological patients, as well as the failure to meet the set goals we had as the Government of ZDK. We want to fully realize the promises made during the presentation of the exposé," said Prime Minister Pivić.
According to him, all other promises have been initiated or already realized, while this segment was stalled, and "the Government has no intention of allowing citizens to be deprived of anything due to the work or inaction of any director".
"This is proof that we are fully committed to ensuring that all our directors achieve good results," added Pivić.
The Prime Minister explained that electronic health cards have not yet been introduced, which would reduce queues during the validation of health cards, which have recently been validated monthly instead of every three months.
"We are witnessing extremely long queues of citizens these days who validate their cards every month. This is unacceptable. Such a decision was not consulted with either the Minister of Health or me as Prime Minister, so this is also one of the reasons for the dismissal," Pivić stated.
At the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Government approved KM 9,352 in support for registered medicinal herb collectors, KM 88,950 for registered cattle farms, KM 60,000 for chicken meat collectors and processors, and KM 42,000 for unfulfilled requests from the previous period.
Through the Ministry of Economy, a decision was made to approve KM 300,000 for the refund of part of the costs for organizing international fairs this year. At the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees, additional decisions were made for the payment of previously approved KM 3.5 million in one-time assistance to pensioners.
All pensioners of Zenica-Doboj Canton whose pension does not exceed the minimum pension amount in the Federation of BiH will receive KM 100 each by the end of the year from the budget of the ZDK Government.
The Alliance of Demobilized Soldiers of ZDK was approved funds for co-financing the commemoration of the anniversary of the 3rd Corps of the Army of RBiH, which will be held in Maglaj this year.
According to the Prime Minister, through the Ministry of Health, funds were approved for associations of diabetics and associations dealing with malignant diseases. KM 428,000 will be transferred to the Cantonal Hospital Zenica for the purchase of medical equipment and an additional KM 256,000 for non-medical equipment. The Public Institution Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica was approved KM 109,416 for the purchase of seasonal flu vaccines.
The University of Zenica was given consent for the amended enrollment plan for the first year of the second cycle of studies, which increased the quota for the study program Nursing and Management by three regular-self-financing students. The total number of enrollment places in the eight faculties of the University increased from 274 to 277.
