Government of ZDK Allocates 900,000 KM to Support Tourism Development in 2025

(Patria) - The Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) at its 88th session, chaired by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, adopted a Decision on providing incentives for the development of tourism and tourist infrastructure in the ZDK area for 2025.

At today's session, the Government also established the opinion of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport given on the Initiative for authentic interpretation of Article 49, paragraph (4) of the Law on Higher Education, submitted by the University of Zenica (UNZE).

- The initiative concerned the interpretation of the provision relating to the payment of fees at UNZE. The Law limits it to a certain, limited number of fees, not accumulation - as was the case until now.

They raised that question. However, the provision is clear, and I do not understand at all why they raised that question, when it is already precisely and clearly defined - said Prime Minister Nezir Pivić.

He stated that he will not allow privileged individuals in institutions who have four or five functional supplements, as was the case at UNZE. Some professors, he said, could not have any functional supplement.

- The provision is clear, and with this we have sent a message that we want to bring order to UNZE, but at the same time we are sending a message that UNZE is extremely important to us and that we will support its future development - Pivić stated.

Minister of Economy Samir Šibonjić reminded of the established Tourist Association of ZDK, and added that the Government is committed to placing tourism, as a branch of the economy, in the focus of its work.

According to Minister Šibonjić, a record amount of 900,000 KM for incentives was adopted at today's session.



Prime Minister Pivić denied all allegations from the criminal complaint filed against him, Minister of Finance Dženana Čišija, Minister of Education Mirza Mušija, and President of the University of Zenica Management Board Suvad Isaković, submitted by the University of Zenica.

- It is clear that no body of UNZE made such a decision, nor did the UNZE Union make such a decision. Such a decision was made precisely by a handful of people who run UNZE from the shadows and who, in fact, create all the chaos at UNZE.

So we, as the ZDK Government, submitted the entire information to the ZDK Prosecutor's Office and expect them to do their part. We are sure that only respect for the law is the right path and that only in this way can we lead this canton - Pivić stated.

The Scientific-Teaching Council of the Faculty of Philosophy called on the UNZE Senate to appoint an acting rector and to continue the fight for UNZE autonomy through legal means, and there are indications that a similar stance will be taken by the Scientific-Teaching Councils of some of the remaining eight UNZE faculties.

- Some organizational units of UNZE have already clearly expressed their stance. The UNZE Union has also sent its stance. They do not want to be hostages of any individuals, their personal ambitions and interests, but on the contrary, they demand strict compliance with the law.

I believe that this problem will be resolved in that part. We see that there is growing dissatisfaction among employees towards the UNZE management, which practically no longer exists and which has kept itself in those positions.

We, as the ZDK Government, are ready, when the UNZE Senate decides and elects an acting rector, to process and release salaries to employees within two to three hours. Until then, we really cannot - because the law is very clear - added Pivić.

The Government approved 100,000 KM for co-financing the project "Reconstruction and extension of the Gornja Kosova water supply system" in the Maglaj municipality.
