ZDK Government Approves 1.23 Million BAM for One-Time Aid to Veteran Population

(Patria) - The Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, at its 106th session chaired by
Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, adopted a Decision on approving and allocating funds under the public call for subsidizing tourism infrastructure and suprastructure projects in 2025, for which a record 1,168,469 BAM has been set aside this year.

Within the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs, a decision was made to allocate 1,233,900 BAM, mainly for the payment of one-time financial assistance to beneficiaries of the cantonal subsistence allowance and beneficiaries of personal and family disability benefits from the ZDK area.

"This concerns an amount of 1,135,400 BAM, meaning each individual will receive 100 BAM, with a total of 11,354 beneficiaries. The second decision pertains to the payment of a one-time financial compensation to persons with special merits from the ZDK area, for which 98,500 BAM has been allocated. The individual amount for 197 beneficiaries is 500 BAM," stated Prime Minister Nezir Pivić.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees adopted conclusions on approving funds for individuals for treatment and improvement of housing conditions in the amount of 50,705 BAM.

From the position of the Prime Minister's Office, conclusions were adopted on approving funds for competitors from the ZDK area who won medals at the Balkan Taekwondo Championship in Bulgaria.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the ZDK Government approved the allocation of funds to the Municipality of Tešanj for co-financing projects in the amount of 54,513 BAM.

The Cantonal Government today also adopted the Information on the budget execution for the first nine months of this year. Revenues and receipts amounted to 450,084,376 BAM, representing 76.13 percent of the planned amount for that period, while expenditures amounted to 408,535,984 BAM, or 80 percent of the plan. Court judgments were executed in the amount of 1,500,000 BAM, and loan repayments amount to 7,012,709 BAM.

"The most important thing is that we have a liquid and stable budget. The budget execution is at a satisfactory level, which shows that the ZDK Government and all ministries have treated the budget very prudently and will continue to do so. It is important to take care of possible savings, but also of the expenditure of funds, which brings new value," emphasized Prime Minister Pivić.

The Prime Minister also announced a budget rebalancing, which is the result of redistributions in the past period and salary increases through amendments to collective agreements. The rebalancing will be adopted at one of the upcoming sessions of the Government and the Assembly of ZDK, as well as the Budget for 2026 in the amount of 740,889,300 BAM.

"The budget for next year is slightly larger compared to this year's. We expect the revenue side to be higher, and we can subsequently change it through rebalancing," explained Prime Minister Pivić.
