ZDK Government Announces Even Greater Financial Support for VKBI Than Last Year

(Patria) - Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) Mirza Mušija received a delegation from the Council of Bosniak Intellectuals (VKBI) in Zenica.

The delegation from Sarajevo included the President of VKBI, academician Kasim Trnka, and Secretary General Emir Zlatar.



Prime Minister Pivić stated that VKBI is an organization that brings together Bosniak intellectuals to preserve the interests not only of the Bosniak people but also of other peoples and the entire BiH society.

He emphasized that they perform their work on a voluntary basis, out of love for science and their homeland, and thus contribute to society as a whole.

He explained that the ZDK Government also supports this institution financially, allocating 25,000 KM for this purpose last year, and announced that financial support will be increased this year.



Trnka and Zlatar thanked them for the support received so far and highlighted the significance of the activities carried out by this organization.

Trnka emphasized that VKBI, although operating as a non-governmental organization, implements projects that in other countries fall under the jurisdiction of national institutions, such as the creation of encyclopedias and major scientific publications.

Minister Mušija recalled the importance of such organizations as factors of integration and preservation of everything that holds the state together, but expressed regret that this value is mostly recognized by lower levels of government, while support is lacking at the state level.



An initiative has been launched for ZDK to declare VKBI an organization of special interest to the canton in the future.
