ZDK Government Establishes Public Procurement Office, Approves Additional Funds for Construction of Emergency Services Building

(Patria) - The ZDK Government, at a session chaired by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, adopted a decision approving two million KM to support the project of constructing the Emergency Services building in Zenica, so that, together with the previously approved 1.5 million, a total of 3.5 million KM has been approved for this project so far.

- I recall that the total project for the construction of the Emergency Services building is worth about 8 million KM, so the ZDK Government is participating in the construction of this facility with nearly 50 percent. This shows our commitment to helping citizens, especially in healthcare.



The ZDK Government, in addition to its commitment to build a new Cantonal Hospital, is maximally supporting the construction of clinics, i.e., emergency medical aid buildings across the entire canton - said Prime Minister Pivić.

The Government, at the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, adopted several decisions approving incentives for 2024 in the amount of 1,231,359 KM, while from the budget of the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs, it approved an additional 56,500 KM as aid to demobilized soldiers and their families.

A decision was adopted to establish the Public Procurement Office, as a centralized public body for public procurement, in accordance with the BiH Law on Public Procurement.

- This will go in the direction of additional savings and cost rationalization, so we will have one centralized office that will carry out public procurement for almost the entire canton.



Some specific institutions will probably not enter the public procurement centralization system, but this body should contribute to the rationalization and cost-effectiveness, as well as the efficiency of conducting public procurement processes - said Pivić.

Amendments to the ZDK Budget were also considered, which were mostly submitted by SDP deputies, and the amendments were not accepted because the Government considered them unfounded.

- One amendment referred to increasing allocations for sports by 150,000 KM, and it is known that we increased allocations for sports in this budget by 3,000,000 KM, so we did not consider the amendment justified because we have already sufficiently increased allocations for sports. We believe that this is, perhaps, the biggest step forward in this budget - said Prime Minister Pivić.

The second amendment, he stated, referred to reducing incentives for the economy and redirecting funds to subsistence allowances.

- We believe that we should support the economy, which is the driver of societal development, and ultimately of budget filling, and I absolutely do not understand that amendment.



I believe that we should all be committed to the development of the economy, especially when talking about ZDK, where we have a particular opportunity to boast about our economic development. For that reason, we did not accept that amendment - said the Prime Minister of ZDK.

He emphasized that ZDK will enter 2025 with the adopted Cantonal Budget and financial plans of public institutions - the Employment Service and the Health Insurance Institute.

- We prepared on time to enter ready from the aspect of financial plans. We expect support for the budget, which is record-breaking and amounts to nearly 700 million KM.

I hope we will have another session of the Assembly where we will consider very important laws, but I believe that the work prepared by the Government is good in terms of entering the next year ready in terms of financial plans - said Prime Minister Pivić.
