ZDK Government: KM 700,000 for industrial zones, KM 638,000 for 'green energy' projects

(Patria) - The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) made a series of decisions from the scope of the Ministry of Economy at today's session.

To support the development and establishment of new industrial zones in the canton, KM 700,000 was allocated.

- All municipalities and cities in the canton that applied and met the conditions received funds. For exhibiting companies at fairs, as last year, we allocated around KM 80,000. This amount will be awarded to companies from the ZDK area for participation in fairs, and the funds were distributed through a public call - says ZDK Prime Minister Nezir Pivić.

He also announced the General BH Fair ZEPS in Zenica and the Economy Fair in Tešanj, which will be held during the next month.

- These fairs have become extremely important, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina but also in international contexts, and they record better and better results year after year.

We are especially proud that last year we renewed the holding of ZEPS, a fair that is a symbol of Zenica and the Canton, but also an internationally recognized event. We have seen that economic exhibitors from all over the world gladly return to present their products - added Pivić.

The ZDK Chamber of Commerce received KM 70,000 for the implementation of its programs, so a total of approximately KM 850,000 was allocated today from the Ministry of Economy's budget.

- The Ministry of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees conducted a public call for the allocation of funds to non-governmental organizations funded from the ZDK budget for 2025, in the amount of approximately KM 130,000. Also, we had around KM 30,000 in individual emergency assistance - points out Pivić.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of ZDK today allocated KM 638,000 for co-financing energy efficiency projects in the field of education, which are being implemented in cooperation with international partner organizations UNDP and "Caritas" Switzerland.

For the implementation of the project with UNDP, KM 428,000 was allocated, which is 50 percent of the total project value, while for the project implemented with "Caritas", KM 150,000 was allocated, which is 49 percent of the value of this project.
