RS Government declares state of emergency

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) – The RS Government declared a state of emergency in the entity due to coronavirus at today's extraordinary session. There are 20 infected people with coronavirus in the RS, and the President of RS Željka Cvijanović said that the goal is to protect the healthcare system from infection.

She called on citizens to be responsible and to follow the instructions of official institutions. She asked citizens not to hoard food as there is no need for it.

Cvijanović explained that the state of emergency allows for faster implementation of necessary measures for preventive action.

Alen Šeranić, the Minister of Health, said that there are 20 infected people with coronavirus in RS, while 2,026 people are under epidemiological surveillance. 

“Only those who arrive with adequate documentation will be tested; there is no need for someone to come and get tested on their own initiative,” said Šeranić. 

For international transport drivers, if it is a foreign driver, their cabin is a place for self-isolation, while for domestic drivers, their home is the place for self-isolation, explained the Minister of Health.
