RS Government Buys Helicopter for 14.6 Million KM

(Patria) - The RS Government decided at today's session to purchase a new multi-purpose helicopter worth 14,625,000 KM with VAT.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS is in charge of the public procurement of the helicopter.

"The newly formed Directorate for Aviation estimates that the existing helicopter fleet of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs is not sufficient for the effective performance of all prescribed tasks.

Bearing in mind the upcoming summer season, and according to risk assessments of a high probability of fires breaking out throughout the RS, the Directorate has determined the need to procure a new multi-purpose helicopter," the RS Government announced.

In addition to firefighting, the new helicopter is intended for transporting injured and sick individuals, as well as for responding to other crisis situations such as floods, snow blockades, and other natural disasters.

"In this regard, the helicopter should primarily be equipped with a firefighting system (hoist and bucket), with the possibility of installing stretchers for patient transport, for which there is sufficient space in the cabin with at least one doctor or medical personnel present," the statement said.

The new helicopter must be certified for the capability of carrying an underslung load of at least 1,000 kilograms and possess other characteristics for performing tasks within the prescribed scope of the RS police's jurisdiction.
