RS Government issues ultimatum to BiH institutions employees, tasks MUP with drafting new border control law

(Patria) - A special session of the RS Government was held today in Banja Luka, attended by RS President Milorad Dodik and BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović.

The RS Government announced that it accepted "Information on the current political and security situation in RS due to the illegal actions of Christian Schmidt" today.

The Government tasked the Ministry of Internal Affairs to draft a law in the shortest possible time to regulate border control and the crossing of the state border of BiH on the territory of RS, and that border control tasks be performed by police officers of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Furthermore, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice are tasked with taking over employees from RS who are employed in the State Investigation and Protection Agency, and judges, prosecutors, and employees who reside in RS and are employed in the Court of BiH, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and the HJPC BiH, and who express readiness to be transferred to RS institutions, by Wednesday, March 19th of this year, after which the RS Government will initiate proceedings to repeal the acts that provide for this right," the RS Government announced.

"In addition, the RS Government has tasked the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice to, within their competencies, continuously collect data from judicial and other RS institutions on the application of the Law on Non-application of the Law and Prohibition of the Actions of Unconstitutional Institutions of BiH and the Law on Non-application of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH on the territory of RS, and to take measures to sanction individuals and institutions that act contrary to it.

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare is also tasked with drafting a law in the shortest possible time to regulate the procedure for forming the RS Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, which would regulate the subject area," the statement added.

Furthermore, the entity Ministry of Finance is tasked with "ensuring the necessary financial prerequisites for the establishment and functioning of RS institutions established by the laws of the National Assembly of RS, as well as institutions that will be established in the future in order to protect the constitutional order of RS".

"The Ministry of Finance is also tasked with suspending funding from the RS budget for all institutions in RS that are financed from the budget and that do not apply the laws, regulations, and general acts adopted by the National Assembly of RS in their work, and to propose to the competent ministry to initiate proceedings for the adoption of appropriate laws for the abolition of these institutions," the statement reads.

The RS Government tasked the Ministry of Internal Affairs "to, in accordance with the current political and security situation in BiH, engage maximum capacities in order to ensure the security of protected persons and facilities that are specially secured, and to take all legally prescribed measures and actions in order to ensure the unimpeded performance of constitutional and legal duties of protected persons."
