Government accepts loan from EBRD for Water and Sewerage, but it's unclear when it will reach the FBiH Parliament

The FBiH Government accepted the FBiH loan at today's session, which will be decided upon by the FBiH Parliament, under the Loan Agreement between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Sarajevo Water Supply Project in the amount of 25 million euros.

This creates a basis for signing a subsidiary agreement between BiH and the Federation of BiH, and then a loan sub-agreement between the Federation of BiH and Sarajevo Canton. Sarajevo Canton will transfer the loan to KJKP „Vodovod i kanalizacija“ d.o.o. Sarajevo, as the ultimate debtor and beneficiary.

The loan funds are intended for the reconstruction of priority components of the water supply system, in order to reduce water losses and improve the overall efficiency of the water supply system.

No one is talking about the deadlines for when all of this could be completed and confirmed in the FBiH Parliament yet. The situation with the Water and Sewerage company is alarming, and the reconstruction of the water supply network is necessary to stop water loss and the all-night reductions, as well as the daily ones that Sarajevo citizens have been facing for months. 

The change of the Water and Sewerage management is currently underway. First, the company's Assembly was dismissed, and then the Supervisory Board.
