Government promised help, ten ZOI '84 employees remain locked in Zetra until concrete steps are taken

A group of about ten employees of the state-owned company ZOI '84 remained locked in the Zetra premises, despite promises from the company's Assembly and the Government of Sarajevo Canton that the problems of about 180 employees would be resolved in the next few days, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

ZOI '84 employees have been on strike for several days. They demand that ten outstanding salaries be paid, that new management of the company be appointed, and that a loan be approved which will be the impetus for this company to start operating profitably.

Alija Hodžić, president of the ZOI '84 employees' union, told the Patria agency that he received a promise today from the president of the ZOI '84 Assembly, Midhat Hubijar, that the company's Assembly would appoint a new supervisory board in the next few days, which would then appoint a new director of the company. This promise, says Hodžić, also came from the KS Government. Hubijar himself confirmed the information for Patria.

- We unlocked all the premises owned by ZOI '84, which we had locked this morning, so that tenants in our premises will be able to return to their workplaces from tomorrow. Now we are waiting to see what will happen next. We hope we will not have to go on strike again and that our demands will be met – Hodžić told Patria.

However, regardless of the promises from the company's Assembly and the KS Government, a group of about ten employees remained locked in one of Zetra's premises, and they will stay there until the new management of this state-owned company is appointed, and until the new company management offers concrete solutions for the recovery of ZOI '84.

- I tried to talk to those people, but the group of employees is determined in their intentions and they will stay there until the company gets new management, that is, until the company starts operating normally – said Hodžić, writes Patria.
