KS Government adopted the project, UNDP can announce tender for General Hospital isolation ward

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton, at today's 62nd extraordinary session, adopted the Proposal of the Decision on giving consent to the Project Task and conceptual design of the isolation ward for the accommodation and treatment of patients infected with coronavirus, which will be located in the former Army Medical Center building within the premises of the Public Institution General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš".

It is planned that the isolation ward will be located on the ground floor of this building, covering an area of 961 square meters.

The Project Task was prepared by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the funds were provided by the KS Government. Given that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to grant the use of the former Army Medical Center building to the Public Institution Institute for Public Health of KS, this institution is tasked with signing an agreement with the General Hospital to regulate mutual rights and obligations regarding its handover, in accordance with which the General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" will manage this facility.

"The KS Government has previously given consent to UNDP to bring in its contractors to this facility. After the adoption of today's proposal, they will be able to announce a tender based on which they will create the project according to the conceptual design. Based on that, we will know how much financial resources are needed for it and what the planned dynamics of the work execution are," said the proposer and acting Minister of Health Draško Jeličić.

He added that this is the result of months-long activities that the KS Ministry of Health, together with the Government, UNDP, and all relevant entities in this process, has been undertaking.
