(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton (KS) has adopted the Draft Law on the Management of Common Parts of Buildings.
KS Prime Minister Nihad Uk says this is a long-awaited legal solution that must bring order where there has been none for years.
"As someone who lives in a building and shares the same problems with thousands of our fellow citizens, I know how frustrating it is when you don't know who is responsible for a broken elevator, a leaking roof, or when neighbors are held hostage by irresponsible individuals who do not pay for maintenance.
I am aware of the dissatisfaction of unit owners, but also of the problems faced by managers in the current, unclear system. This is not a law directed against anyone; this is a law for people who want decent, safe, and maintained buildings.
After the adoption of the Draft Law by the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, a public debate will follow, lasting 45 days.
I sincerely invite citizens, unit owners, managers, and the professional public to get involved, to say what is wrong and what needs to be improved.
This is an opportunity for us to jointly adopt a law that will be felt in everyday life, from cleaner entrances, safer elevators, and more responsible management of our buildings," said Uk.
