KS Government Adopts Draft Budget for 2026 in the Amount of 1,609,110,744 KM

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton has determined the Draft Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2026 in the total amount of 1,609,110,744 KM and sent it for further parliamentary procedure.

The author of this key financial document of Sarajevo Canton is the Ministry of Finance, and its determination was preceded by the definition of the KS Government's priorities for the next year, as well as discussions held with all budget users.

In accordance with the Law, the Draft Budget was previously sent for an opinion to the Federal Ministry of Finance, which stated that the Ministry of Finance of KS has complied with all provisions and fiscal rules of the Law on Budgets of FBiH.

The revenue side of the Draft Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2026 is planned based on revised projections of public revenues for 2025 and projections for the period 2026-2028 of the Federal Ministry of Finance, which include a reduction in profit tax, but also an increase in income tax and indirect taxes that belong to Sarajevo Canton compared to the adopted Budget for 2025.

In addition, other tax and non-tax revenues are planned based on the trend of realization in the past period and estimates until the end of 2025.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton has invited the public, the non-governmental sector, experts, and all interested citizens to actively participate in the public debate on the Draft Budget, which will be organized after the Draft Budget is considered and adopted by the KS Assembly.

The public will be informed in a timely manner about the date of the Assembly session.

The budget for 2025 amounted to 1.88 billion KM and was the largest budget ever in the history of Sarajevo Canton.
