Government of Sarajevo Canton: Abolition of fees for company registration and introduction of digitalisation for swift judiciary work

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton has established the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Court Fees and forwarded it to the parliamentary procedure. The aim of these amendments, among other things, is to improve the business environment in Sarajevo Canton and modernise judicial processes.

One of the key novelties is the complete abolition of court fee payments for the establishment of new companies in the territory of Sarajevo Canton. As pointed out by the Minister of Finance of Sarajevo Canton, Afan Kalamujić, this measure represents an important step towards creating a more favourable business climate and is the result of a joint initiative with the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton.

"This law not only encourages the establishment of new companies, but also introduces electronic payment of court fees, which is fully aligned with our commitment to digitalisation in Sarajevo Canton. Additionally, we are working on harmonising a series of technical procedures that will speed up administrative processes and enable better control of court fee collection. Through stronger connectivity between the Court and the Attorney's Office, we expect more efficient revenue collection for Sarajevo Canton," Minister Kalamujić elaborated on the proposed amendments.

The law also provides for the introduction of a penalty fee for those who have so far avoided paying fees, which is harmonised with the state law. Furthermore, at the initiative of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, a minimal adjustment of certain tariffs related to the work of land registry offices and their procedures has been carried out, so that the Court can meet all standards and improve its work.
