KS Government in Continuous Session: Priority is Support for Families and Effective Investigation, We Insist on Full Accountability

(Patria) - In response to the serious traffic accident that occurred yesterday, the Government of Sarajevo Canton is in continuous session. At this morning's meeting, information was presented on the measures taken, as well as on the measures and actions that competent institutions are currently undertaking.

In these difficult moments, members of the KS Government once again express their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the tragically deceased young man.

This accident has deeply shaken us all, the entire community, and our thoughts and sincere sympathy are with those going through an irreparable loss.

The KS Government continuously monitors information about the health status of those injured in this accident. They wish a swift and successful recovery to the injured, with a message that all institutions of Sarajevo Canton are available to provide the necessary support to mitigate the extremely severe consequences of this tragic event.

The Prime Minister and ministers are continuously informed regarding the accident and the injured. They are in constant contact with competent authorities and healthcare institutions.

We appeal to the public and the media to refrain from speculating about the causes of the accident until the competent authorities and expert bodies complete the investigation and expert examinations, out of respect for the deceased and the injured, as well as their families. We especially ask for consideration when reporting on the health status of the injured, keeping in mind that a minor is among them.

Upon completion of the investigation and determination of all relevant facts, the KS Government will insist on full accountability of those responsible and sanctions.

Members of the Government, within their competencies, visited the scene of the accident and the injured persons immediately after learning about it. Due to the sensitivity of the investigation process and the protection of the privacy of the victims, they are unable to provide more details at this moment.
