Government of Sarajevo Canton orders VIK to reopen payment points in communal service centres

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton has tasked the public utility company "Vodovod i kanalizacija" d.o.o. Sarajevo with re-establishing payment points at communal service centres, where citizens can pay their bills for water and wastewater services without a fee.

By the Government's conclusion, VIK is obliged to restart operations at these payment points no later than 1 September of the current year.

The Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton received a significant number of complaints and inquiries from users after VIK closed the payment points. This step aims to ensure adequate service for users, in line with the public interest and earlier Government conclusions, with an emphasis on efficiency and improving the quality of communal service provision, it was stated.
      
The Government's commitment is that communal service centres must operate at full capacity and that citizens have the opportunity to pay bills for all cantonal communal services in one place.
