KS Government Has Not Yet Started Negotiations with Trade Union Coordination on Base Salary Increase, Without It No KS Budget for 2025

(Patria) - Although a month has passed since the Draft Budget of KS for 2025 was adopted in the amount of KM 1,478,010,805, the Budget Proposal has not yet been adopted by the KS Government nor sent to the KS Assembly.

As confirmed to the Patria News Agency, a meeting between the Trade Union Coordination and the KS Prime Minister Nihad Uk has not yet been held to determine the new base salary for calculating wages. The current base salary is KM 385, and the Coordination's request is to increase it to KM 425 due to the increased cost of living and the rise in the minimum wage from KM 619 to KM 1,000.

This Trade Union Coordination represents the interests of more than 16,000 employees in the public sector in Sarajevo Canton, the largest of which are the Primary Education and Education Trade Union and the Healthcare Workers' Trade Union.

The Trade Union Coordination has already organized protests in front of the KS Government at the end of November 2024.

The situation is particularly difficult in the communal economy sector, and price increases for communal services are already being announced by the KS Government and certain companies.

Otherwise, the Trade Union Coordination has held meetings with the parliamentary groups in the KS Assembly, which have supported the Trade Unions' demands, and it is up to the Government to ensure the increase in the base salary.
