KS Government: Approved indefinite employment for 61 educators at JU 'Djeca Sarajeva'

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton has approved the announcement of a competition for the indefinite employment of 61 educators at JU "Djeca Sarajeva".

In this way, according to the Minister of Education and Upbringing of KS, Naida Hota-Muminović, the positions and employment status of workers who have been engaged on fixed-term contracts for years are being resolved.

"Other requested positions for JU 'Djeca Sarajeva' will be advertised for a fixed term of one year, with our commitment to also resolve these positions with indefinite employment, if the budget of Sarajevo Canton in the upcoming 2022 is filled to the expected extent. We have also approved the engagement of workers until the competition procedure is completed, so that the continuity of work in JU 'Djeca Sarajeva' will not be jeopardized," said Minister Hota-Muminović.

The employment procedure will be carried out in accordance with the Decree on the Procedure for Employment in the Public Sector in the Territory of Sarajevo Canton, and in compliance with the rights from the Decree on Uniform Criteria and Rules for the Employment of Veterans and their Family Members.

"In the coming period, we will conduct an additional analysis of the policy of fixed-term employment in primary and secondary schools. Constant fixed-term competitions cause stress, insecurity, and create unnecessary costs for both candidates and schools. These and many other problems have been talked about for years. We will resolve this issue to a large extent this year. All these are positions that are needed in our education system," added the minister.
