Canton Sarajevo Government Awards Lana Pudar 30,000 KM

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Government of Canton Sarajevo has decided to allocate 30,000 KM as an award for the exceptional achievements of the young Bosnian-Herzegovinian swimmer Lana Pudar.

The Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Edin Forto and the ministers in the Government hosted the 15-year-old swimmer today, who recently won a bronze medal in the 200-meter butterfly at the World Championships held in Abu Dhabi.

The Minister of Culture and Sport of CS Samir Avdić emphasized on this occasion that the relevant ministry and the Government of CS show a high level of empathy and responsibility towards what not only Lana but all other top BH athletes are doing.

"This is a special day for all of us and it is an exceptional honor to be in the company of our Lana and her coaches Alena Ćemalović and Damir Đedović. This was definitely a year for swimming. Institutional support for sports achievements, both from the Ministry of Culture and Sport of CS and the entire Government of CS, will not be lacking next year either," said Minister Avdić, who, along with the Prime Minister and ministers, congratulated Lana and her coaches on their great success.

Minister Avdić added that today at the Olympic Pool Otoka, the notable result of 14-year-old swimmer Iman Avdić was also celebrated, who competed in the 400 meters individual medley, 400 meters freestyle, and 200 meters individual medley at the championship.

"I sincerely congratulate Iman and her coach Evelin Avdić on all the achieved results, especially considering that this year, like the previous one, was extremely difficult due to the pandemic. When a 14-year-old swims four A standards, I think it shows that she has a bright future. Our support will not be lacking," said Minister Avdić.
