Canton Sarajevo Government: Jasna Agić Acting Minister of Health!

Acting Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Anisa Krivić made a decision at today's online meeting that Jasna Agić, a member of the CS Government and Minister of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of CS, will be the acting Minister of Health of CS in the upcoming period, due to the temporary inability and illness of the Minister of Health.

At today's meeting between Krivić and Prime Minister Marija Nenadić, organized today at 12:00 PM, the Minister of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of CS, Jasna Agić, was also present. The Director of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Anis Ajdinović, also actively participated, confirming that the inspection will fulfill its task and visit the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, as requested by the conclusions of the CS Government after the recent joint session of the CS Government and the Crisis Staff of the CS Ministry of Health.

Krivić made a decision that Jasna Agić will be the acting Minister of Health of CS in the upcoming period. This Decision entered into force immediately, it was stated by the CS Press Service.

"We remind the public that the Minister of Health of CS resigned from that position at the end of July this year, which Prime Minister Nenadić then accepted, and in the prescribed procedure, proposed the appointment of a new minister and sent it for confirmation to the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo. Unfortunately, this appointment did not happen in the cantonal assembly, which is the biggest handicap in the functioning of this Government, in the circumstances of the COVID epidemic.

After the non-appointment of the Minister of Health by the Assembly of CS, Prime Minister Nenadić used the only remaining prescribed procedure and appointed the Minister of Economy of CS, Draško Jeličić, as the acting minister of this ministry, who also, in the meantime, went on sick leave, which is still ongoing. That was the reason why, in such a short time, it was necessary to proceed with a new appointment to this extremely responsible position. Again, it was necessary to resort to the same, i.e., the only valid procedure, which is to appoint an acting minister from among the existing members of the CS Government," stated the Press Service.

Immediately after her appointment, Agić sent an invitation to the members of the Crisis Staff of the CS Ministry of Health for a joint meeting on Monday at 9:00 AM with only one agenda item, within which the current epidemiological situation in Canton Sarajevo will be considered with the implementation of the conclusions of the CS Government from 10/29/2020, as well as the orders of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health.

We remind you that the lack of a signatory in this ministry causes the impossibility of procuring medicines, procuring and paying for orthopedic aids for war veterans and paraplegics, the impossibility of carrying out important public procurement processes in the field of health, procurement of tests, employment of necessary health staff, impossibility of implementing special projects, payment of loans to healthcare institutions in Canton Sarajevo under signed agreements on project and program bases, impossibility of securing missing funds, certification of decisions on the registration of private healthcare institutions in the court register of the Sarajevo Court, certification of diplomas to high school students for passing the professional exam for working in healthcare institutions, certification of documents to the Prosecutor's Office and Ombudsmen, and finally, and perhaps most importantly, the filling of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of CS and numerous other important issues in the field of healthcare in Canton Sarajevo.

Since the CS Government also received conclusions from KCUS on Friday at 5:10 PM, which in one part are in complete contradiction with the orders of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, the acting Prime Minister of CS sent a letter to the federal minister Vjekoslav Mandić concerning the implementation of the orders and conclusions of the crisis staffs of the ministries of health of FBiH and CS, as well as the relevant conclusions of the Government of Canton Sarajevo.
