Sarajevo Canton Government "honored" citizens with more expensive heating

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton has made a Decision on the amount of tariff rates for the Cantonal Public Utility Company (KJKP) Toplane-Sarajevo.

This decision, based on the analysis of the Independent Expert Body, establishes an increase in the price of heating by 3.79% for the fixed part and 4.20% for the variable part of the price (during the heating season).

The application of new prices for all users of the services begins on April 1, 2026.

As explained by the Independent Expert Body, as well as by KJKP Toplane, the need for price correction is caused by the increase in the wholesale price of natural gas by the Decision of the FBiH Government from January of the current year, as well as by the increase in the material costs of KJKP Toplane's operations.

Although the initial proposal of the company's Supervisory Board envisaged a price increase of 5.84%, the Independent Expert Body, after analysis, concluded that it is sufficient to correct the prices by the stated percentages of 3.79% and 4.20% to ensure the stability of heat energy supply.
