
(Patria) - The Trade Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry in the West Herzegovina Canton has confirmed that an framework agreement on a new collective agreement and comprehensive reform of the healthcare system has been reached with the Government of WHK.
The agreement includes the organization of family medicine into teams, five-year plans for specializations and the development of primary healthcare, annual training for doctors, the application of standards and norms, and regular professional and working meetings with the competent ministry.
A 30% salary increase is foreseen upon the entry into force of the new collective agreement, with an additional 7% if the new agreement is not concluded before the expiry of the existing one. Furthermore, it allows for the return and continuation of work for all doctors who resigned during the negotiations, thereby ensuring the continuity of healthcare.
“We believe that the reached agreement is an important step towards a stable and sustainable healthcare system in the interest of doctors and citizens of WHK,” stated the union.
