Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Government determined the Draft Decision on Temporary Financing for the period January - March 2024.

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's session in Sarajevo, determined the Draft Decision on temporary financing of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period January - March 2024, which will be sent to the FBiH Parliament for consideration and adoption.

This decision establishes the amount of temporary financing of the Federation of BiH, until the adoption of the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024, for the period January - March 2024.

Temporary financing of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period January - March 2024 is set at the amount of 1,466,314,335 KM, based on the quarterly average of the FBiH Budget execution in the period January - September 2023. The Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period January - March 2024 consists of revenues and receipts in the amount of 1,466,314,335 KM, which is also the amount of expenditures and outlays.

According to Article 35 of the Law on Budgets in FBiH, if the budget is not adopted before the beginning of the fiscal year, financing of the business, functions, and programs of budget users continues temporarily, based on the decision on temporary financing. Temporary financing is carried out for a maximum of the first three months of the fiscal year. The decision on temporary financing is adopted by the Federal Parliament, at the proposal of the FBiH Government. Temporary financing is carried out proportionally to the funds spent in the same period, but not more than the quarterly average for the previous fiscal year. During the period of temporary financing, the same programs are financed, and users are not allowed to increase the number of employees compared to the situation on December 31 of the previous year.

In accordance with this, the Government of the Federation of BiH has prepared the Draft Decision on temporary financing of the Federation of BiH for the period January - March 2024. This implies that during the validity of this decision, only those programs and projects that had execution in the specified period will be financed.

As explained, the proposal of this decision was determined with the aim of completing the entire procedure and including comprehensive solutions, in order to prepare the highest quality Draft Budget of the FBiH for 2024, it was announced from the Office of the Government of the FBiH for Public Relations.
