FBiH Government Adopts Strategic Goals: Health, Public Administration, and Judiciary Reform

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's session in Sarajevo, adopted its Work Program for 2020, which was based on adopted sectoral strategic documents, the FBiH Economic Reform Program 2020-2022, the Reform Agenda for the period 2018-2022, and annual work plans of federal ministries submitted for processing to the Federal Institute for Development Programming.

The Program defines strategic goals, programs, and activities that federal ministries will implement this year to contribute to the achievement of these goals. It precisely lists activity holders, execution deadlines, performance measures for output (direct) results, expected annual results, and sources and amounts of funds.

The strategic goals and programs of the FBiH Government in 2020 are related to further harmonization of domestic legislation with that of the European Union, preserving macroeconomic stability and strengthening budgetary responsibility, economic reforms, construction and reconstruction of transport, energy, and environmental infrastructure, continuation of reforms in the judiciary and public administration, healthcare and the social sector, fight against corruption and organized crime, strengthening cooperation with civil society organizations, protection against discrimination, and strengthening regional cooperation and coordination between cantons.

The priorities of the FBiH Government in 2020 will be focused on projects to intensify economic development, strengthen the internal social stability of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rule of law, as well as initiating and implementing reforms aligned with the needs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Federal Government will, in cooperation with other levels of government in BiH, work on Euro-Atlantic integrations with the aim of ensuring a long-term sustainable and stable system that will make FBiH more competitive.

The Work Program was prepared in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the FBiH Government and the Regulation on Work Planning and Reporting on the Work of the FBiH Government, federal ministries and institutions, which the FBiH Government adopted in 2014, prescribing the planning procedure, forms, and time frame for implementing the process of drafting plans and reports. The Regulation defines the obligation of all federal ministries to adopt three-year strategic plans, annual work plans, and annual work reports. It also regulates the procedure for drafting and adopting plans and work reports, including the basic steps and methodology that officials of federal ministries will adhere to, in accordance with their rights and duties established by the Constitution, laws, and other regulations of the Federation of BiH.

The Work Program of the FBiH Government for 2020 will be forwarded to the Parliament of FBiH.
