FBiH Government asks Council of Ministers to declare day of mourning

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's emergency session held in Sarajevo
was informed about the activities undertaken by the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters and the Federal
Civil Protection Administration in the areas affected by floods, after the declaration of a state of natural
disaster caused by floods and landslides in the Federation of BiH on October 4 and 5 this year.

The Federal Government has sent an initiative to the BiH Council of Ministers to adopt a decision on declaring a day of mourning in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of the loss of human lives caused by floods and landslides in the Federation of BiH.

A conclusion was also adopted, which sends a request to the BiH Council of Ministers to seek international assistance for the needs of the Federation of BiH, which would be used in the areas affected by floods.

The Government today tasked the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters to prepare a Proposal for a decision on allocating funds from funds generated from the special fee for protection against natural and other disasters for the purpose of emergency assistance to endangered areas, with the aim of repairing the consequences of the natural disaster caused by floods and landslides in the Federation of BiH.

The Federal Government was also informed today about the activities undertaken by JP Roads of FBiH Ltd. Sarajevo on establishing road accessibility, as well as by JP Railways of FBiH Ltd. Sarajevo on establishing railway traffic in the areas affected by floods. These public companies are tasked with continuing activities on repairing the consequences of the natural disaster caused by floods and landslides in the Federation of BiH, and to direct all available resources to further work on clearing and establishing road accessibility, as well as on clearing and repairing the railway and creating conditions for the re-establishment of railway traffic. Also, JP Roads of FBiH and JP Railways of FBiH are tasked with preparing activity plans for damage removal and traffic regulation.
