FBiH GOVERNMENT Six municipalities and cities to receive 50 million KM for flood damage repair

(Patria) - At the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo today, contracts will be signed for financial assistance to cities and municipalities for the repair of damage caused by floods, in the total amount of 50 million KM from the Budget of the Federation of BiH for this year.

Contracts for the dedicated use of allocated funds will be signed with the mayors of the municipalities of Jablanica, Fojnica, Kiseljak, and Kreševo, as well as the mayors of Konjic and Mostar.

The signing of the contracts will be attended by the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić, as well as the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Federation Toni Kraljević and Vojin Mijatović, and the Secretary of the Government of the Federation of BiH Edita Kalajdžić.

Let us remind you that 27 people died in the floods that hit parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the night of October 3-4, 2024.

Donja Jablanica suffered the most, where a torrent of water and rocks claimed 19 lives.

After Jablanica, Konjic is one of the most affected municipalities in last year's floods. Five people died in this municipality.

A year later, the consequences of the floods are still visible in Fojnica, where three people died.

Devastating floods, accompanied by landslides and rockfalls, caused enormous material damage and left tragic consequences. Numerous houses, roads, and bridges were destroyed.

Many affected families still live in containers, while some roads are still barely passable.
