FBiH Government Entangled in Process of Adjusting Electricity Law to Controversial Regulation

Amendments to the Law on Electricity in FBiH, adopted by the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament on October 23 this year, did not receive the required number of votes in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, which is sitting today in Sarajevo, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The amendments to the Law on Electricity are aligned with the Regulation adopted by the FBiH Government in mid-2023, which pertains to the method of appointments in public companies.

The head of the DF Club in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, Dženan Đonlagić, earlier warned that in FBiH it has not been recorded that a law, as a higher legal act than a regulation, is adjusted to a regulation through amendments, and all under an urgent procedure.

The House of Representatives last week, despite criticism from the opposition, adopted the amendments to the Law on Electricity in FBiH, but such a law did not pass the House of Peoples.

Due to the Regulation by which the Government defined the method of appointments in public companies, the DF left the coalition with the SDA and HDZ BiH in June this year.

Đonlagić warned that the ruling coalition has shown that governance of public enterprises is more important to them than the constitutional system and the legal hierarchy of acts in the Federation of BiH, writes NAP.
