FBiH Government Accepts Initiative to Finance Infrastructure Projects

The Government of the Federation of BiH, at today's session in Sarajevo, adopted the information from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications and accepted the initiative to direct funds from the accumulated profit of public enterprises and from the clearing debt of the Russian Federation for the realization of priority infrastructure projects.

The Government has tasked the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications to urgently, and no later than within 30 days, ensure the holding of general meetings in the respective public enterprises.

It also accepted the sequence of activities aimed at realizing the projects proposed by the initiative of the relevant federal ministry.

The Federal Ministries of Transport and Communications, Finance, Energy, Mining and Industry, JP Autoceste Federacije BiH d.o.o. Mostar and JP Ceste Federacije BiH d.o.o. Sarajevo are tasked to, within their competencies and in cooperation with lower levels of government, undertake all necessary activities for the realization of today's conclusions.

The Federal Ministry of Finance is tasked to, as soon as possible, prepare the Rebalance of the FBiH Budget in accordance with these conclusions, and Autoceste FBiH and Ceste FBiH to rebalance their business plans for 2017.

The priority projects mentioned in today's information are the construction of the Lašva - Nević Polje expressway, the road connection between Sarajevo and Goražde, the Mostar - jug and Mostar - sjever bypasses (as sections of the Corridor Vc motorway), the Sarajevo City First Transversal, and the Žepče - Tuzla motorway.

The final decision on this initiative and its realization will be made by the Parliament of FBiH.
