FBiH Government Skips Law: Sarajevo Airport Supervisory Board Ignored in Appointing Acting Director

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH has given prior consent to the Assembly of Sarajevo International Airport for the appointment of an acting director of that company, reports istraga.ba.

Prior consent was given for Amadeo Mandić. However, the FBiH Government has not given consent for the appointment of members of the Supervisory Board, which, due to prohibition measures, lacks a quorum for decision-making. The Government intends to completely exclude the Airport's Supervisory Board from the process of appointing an acting director, which is contrary to applicable laws.

According to the laws, the Government gives prior consent to the Assembly to appoint a Supervisory Board, and then gives prior consent to that Supervisory Board to appoint a director.

This procedure has not been followed.

We remind you that the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH prohibited the acting director of JP Sarajevo Airport, Sanin Ramezić, from performing his duties and imposed prohibition measures.

Prohibition measures have also been imposed on three members of the Airport's Supervisory Board. These individuals are Benjamin Mešak, Adnan Mahmutović, and Žan Matić.

At the beginning of October, members of the Supervisory Board of JP Sarajevo International Airport were summoned to the POSKOK premises for questioning in an investigation, following searches at JP Sarajevo Airport related to a criminal case by the Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor's Office of the Federation of BiH against B. M. and others, due to the criminal offense of Abuse of Position or Authority under Article 383, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH in conjunction with Article 31 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH.

The Supervisory Board of JP Sarajevo Airport appointed a new Management Board at the end of last year, and their one-year term began on December 5, 2024. The Company's Management Board consists of: Sanin Ramezić (Narod i pravda), acting director of the Company, Amadeo Mandić (SDP), acting executive director for traffic, and Slobodan Kadijević (Naša stranka), acting executive director for airport development, representing the personnel of NIP, SDP, and Naša stranka.
