FBiH Government withdraws controversial amendments to the Criminal Code: A large number of amendments submitted, sent for revision

(Patria) - The FBiH Government has withdrawn the amendments and additions to the Criminal Code from the parliamentary procedure due to a large number of amendments, said DF MP in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament Dennis Gratz.

"The FBiH Government has informed us that the amendments and additions to the FBiH Criminal Code are being removed from the agenda before the session begins. The explanation is that this was done due to the large number of amendments and it is being sent for further revision. On one hand, I am glad because we have a problematic attempt to introduce censorship through the proposed Article 193a, but I am also sad about the good solutions that concern the most vulnerable in our society, which are women," said Gratz.

The media had previously warned that such a proposal would mean media censorship.

Proponents of certain amendments stated that these amendments related to the optical recording of minors, not the media. However, the Government decided to withdraw the amendments and additions from the agenda.
