FBiH Government will not subsidize the increase in gas prices, what will the KS Government decide?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Yesterday's meeting at the FBiH Government, attended by the Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić and the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection Enver Hadžiahmetović, did not result in an agreement on the portion of the subsidy that the FBiH Government could pay regarding the increase in gas prices, which has already increased by almost 40 percent twice since November. 

Minister Džindić stated that the FBiH Government is unable to continue any form of subsidizing the increase in gas prices.

"Energoinvest adds 4.7% to Gazprom's price, while Sarajevogas adds an additional 13.76% to that Gazprom price. We showed the line minister those figures and where savings could be made," said Džindić.

He added that it must not happen that there is no gas in the system, but it must also not happen that more is ordered than the system will use or that less is ordered when more is needed.

Minister Hadžiahmetović stated that the KS Government will consider on Thursday how much it can subsidize the gas price.

We remind you that the KS Government subsidized the increase in November and December with 5 million KM so that citizens would not receive higher bills for gas and heating. However, with the new increase from January, the KS Government is not sure if it can pay subsidies for the increase in gas prices and to what extent.
