FBiH Government Can Accept 7 Out of 13 Miners' Demands

(Patria) - The Director of Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine (EPBiH), Admir Andelija, pointed out that there will be a drastic increase in electricity prices if some of the miners' demands are accepted, while the relevant minister Nermin Džindić said that out of a total of 13 miners' demands, seven can be accepted.

Otherwise, today around three hundred workers employed in Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine spontaneously gathered in the premises of the Directorate in Sarajevo in support of Director Admir Andelija and the management of Elektroprivreda BiH.

Regarding the demands, Andelija warned that accepting these demands would mean a drastic increase in electricity prices. Using the example of a consumer who pays an average of 43.25 KM for consumed electricity, he explained how much more they would pay for electricity. Due to the increase in coal prices, the bill would amount to 49.77 KM, and due to the costs of paying obligations, the bill would increase to 59.81 KM.

An urgent meeting will be held tonight in Sarajevo, in the building of the FBiH Government, regarding the miners' demands that are unacceptable to the FBiH Government.

The miners have given the Government a deadline of December 1st, or they will come to Sarajevo again for mass protests. The meeting will be attended by the Prime Minister of FBiH Fadil Novalić, the Management of EPBiH headed by Admir Andelija, all mine directors, and representatives of nine trade unions. Nermin Džindić, Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry, will also attend the meeting.
