FBiH Government: Once the law comes into force, we will fulfill our obligations

SARAJevo, (Patria) - After the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the text of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Electricity in the Federation of BiH last night, and after the House of Peoples did the same the day before, due to the urgency of the situation, we expect it to be delivered today, in the prescribed form, to the secretary of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for further submission for publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Only after the publication and entry into force of this law will the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina be able to undertake activities within its jurisdiction. We also emphasize that the Government of the FBiH will fulfill its obligations as soon as possible, it was announced today from the FBiH Government. 

The adopted amendment stipulates that the Federal Government must intervene and limit the increase in electricity prices for business entities if the broader market sees an increase in these prices of more than 20 percent compared to the previous year. 

Elektroprivreda BiH stated that this amendment is unfeasible for them and will result in millions in losses.
