FBiH Government Issues Recommendations to Employers

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at yesterday's thematic session in an expanded composition adopted a series of recommendations for employers and workers with the aim of preventing the disease caused by
the coronavirus.

The recommendations are:

- Implement special protective measures to prevent adverse health consequences for workers, by shortening their working hours, if the work process allows

- Employers who employ a larger number of workers should reorganize working hours, if the work process allows, and work that takes place in one shift should be distributed into two shifts, in order to avoid the concentration of a larger number of workers in one place

- Provide workers with instructions for working from home, if this is possible due to the nature of the work, i.e., if the work process allows

- Enable workers to use annual leave, as well as to use leave in accordance with the law, collective agreement, or work rules

- Enable workers, parents of minor children up to 10 years of age, to take leave from work for one parent, in case both parents work

- Cancel all official travel, domestic and international, and especially cancel official travel that would involve workers diagnosed with chronic diseases. When sending workers on official travel that cannot be canceled, it is necessary to instruct workers on the instructions issued by the competent health institutions and facilities in the areas they are traveling to, and provide workers with appropriate protective
measures (masks, disinfectants, etc.)

- Employers are obliged, in accordance with regulations in the field of occupational safety, to ensure regular and enhanced implementation of hygiene measures in work and auxiliary premises, which, among other things, include cleaning and disinfection of premises, as well as regular ventilation and airing

- Cancel meetings that involve a larger number of participants. Meetings that are necessary should be organized in as large rooms as possible, with sufficient distance
between meeting participants (one to two meters)

- Employers and workers are instructed to act in accordance with the instructions of the Federal Ministry of Health regarding the regulation of temporary incapacity for work due to the new circumstances

- Employers and workers are instructed to act in all respects in accordance with the recommendations of the Federal Ministry of Health, which are given to employers and workers on the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
