FBiH Government: Avoid landslide and river zones

The FBiH Government issued a warning to citizens after being informed by the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute about meteorological and hydrological forecasts for the period from May 24 to 27 this year.

- Over the weekend, unstable weather conditions are expected, accompanied by rain, showers, thunderstorms, and locally hail. More precipitation is expected in the northern, northeastern, and locally central parts of Bosnia.

According to the aforementioned weather forecast, although the amount of predicted precipitation is of low to moderate intensity, due to the high index of previous rainfall and soil saturation with water, increases in water levels can be expected in areas affected by precipitation. Due to new rainfall, there is a possibility of new landslides and the re-activation of existing ones.

In this regard, citizens are particularly warned to avoid staying in zones and facilities of registered and active landslides and immediately adjacent to watercourses" - stated the warning from the FBiH Government, Patria reports.
