FBiH Government nevertheless declares March 2, 2026, a non-working day

(Patria) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić, after consultations with the relevant minister Adnan Delić, sent an initiative to the Government of the Federation of BiH to declare March 2, 2026, a non-working day in the Federation of BiH, on the occasion of marking March 1 – Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At today's telephone session, the Government of the Federation of BiH adopted this initiative, which will exempt all state bodies, companies, and other legal entities from work on this day.

Prime Minister Nikšić emphasized that this holiday carries special significance for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Independence Day reminds us of the historic moment when our country stepped into independence. It is an opportunity to jointly, in the spirit of unity and respect for all generations who contributed to our freedom, solemnly recall the values that unite us - emphasized Prime Minister Nikšić.

This day, as highlighted by the Government of the Federation of BiH, should be an opportunity for families, friends, and communities to gather, so that all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina can mark Independence Day with dignity and express pride in their homeland.
