FBiH Government and miners nearing agreement, dismissals disputed, talks continue Tuesday

The first meeting of the negotiating team on the demands of the Trade Union of Mine Workers in FBiH was held in the building of the FBiH Government.

As previously concluded at today's session, the FBiH Government formed a negotiating team consisting of representatives from the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo, coal mines operating within the JP Elektroprivreda BiH Concern, the Trade Union of Mine Workers in FBiH, and the Office of the FBiH Prime Minister.

Information from the Kreka mine workers' union suggests that they are close to an agreement, with three points still disputed by the miners.

- Among these points are the dismissal of the General Director of JP "Elektroprivreda BiH" d.d. Sarajevo and the dismissal of the Director of the "Kreka" Coal Mine in Tuzla. Furthermore, the ninth point, which concerns the payment of daily allowances to workers in the coal mines within the Concern during the period of worker disobedience, is also disputed.

The continuation of the talks is scheduled for Tuesday in an attempt to find a solution. Otherwise, the miners will schedule new protests.
